While viewing these pieces, feel free to get right up close. When I was making them I strove to find a balance
between the geometric patterns I imposed (seen from afar) and the natural shape and texture of the subject (seen up close).
I really enjoyed discovering the character within each piece through this process.
Many lines of thought emerged as each image grew and changed. like Hermann Rorschach's inkblots, I found
these photos can dredge up images from ones subconscious, or they can induce a meditative mood like the symetry of
tibetan mandalas. The way I folded the images is like the folded paper of origami, and the repetition of shapes in ever
decreasing size is that of mathematical fractals. Some images remind me of tribal masks or totems, others evoke
topographical maps or aerial photos.
Every original limited quantity photograph was printed with the highest qualtiy
archival inks and mounted on acid free 3/16" foam board to insure longevity.
